Live Map Guide
The Live Map shows your dinosaur’s real-time position on the game map, along with your friends’ positions. It requires a Stalker tier or higher.
Getting started
- Make sure you have a Steam account linked and a server selected.
- Navigate to Map from the main menu.
- Your position appears as a marker with your avatar.
Map layers
The map supports multiple overlay layers that you can toggle on/off:
- POIs — Points of interest and named locations.
- Water — Water sources and rivers.
- Roads — Known paths and trails.
- Sanctuaries — Protected safe zones shown as green circles.
- Custom Markers — Your personal waypoints (premium feature).
Tracking friends
To see friends on the map, you need to add them to your Map Friends list:
- Go to Friends and add players as friends.
- Open Map → Friends Config (gear icon).
- Move friends from “Available” to “Active” slots.
- The number of slots depends on your membership tier.
Custom markers
Right-click anywhere on the map to place a custom waypoint. You can name it, choose an icon, and optionally make it visible to your friends.
MiniMap overlay
Click the PiP button (window icon) to open a compact minimap overlay that stays on top while you play. Great for keeping track of your position without switching windows.
Note: Position data updates every few seconds. If your marker seems stuck, make sure you have the correct server and Steam account selected.
