Rules

Four rules cover almost everything. They’re short on purpose. If you find a clever way around the wording but break the spirit, we’ll still treat it as a rule break.

1. Respect

Other players, other admins, other communities. No personal attacks, no slurs, no doxing, no harassment in DMs. You can disagree all you want. The line is when it gets personal, you take a break.

If something happens to you and you don’t know what to do, open a ticket on the Asura Discord and an admin reads it.

Enforcement. Verbal warning the first time. 24h mute the second. Server ban the third. Doxing or sustained harassment is a permanent ban with no warning.

2. Play the game, not the people

The Isle is a survival game. Hunt, get hunted, eat, die, respawn. That’s all fine. What we don’t tolerate is out-of-character behaviour aimed at specific players: stalking someone across server transitions, coordinating in a separate voice chat to gank one player every time they spawn, revenge-killing across days. Treat the dinosaur in front of you, not the player behind it.

Enforcement. Reports get investigated against the logs. Confirmed cases: 7-day ban. Repeats: permanent ban.

3. One player, one account

One Discord account, one Steam account, one Asura Points balance. No alts. Alts get used to dodge bans, farm giveaway entries, or drain duplication exploits. We’ve found every single one we’ve looked for.

Enforcement. Instant permanent ban on every linked account when an alt is confirmed. Asura Points balances on the alts are zeroed. The main account is also banned because the alt is its operator.

4. Report, don’t retaliate

If someone breaks a rule against you, open a ticket. Don’t chase them across the map, don’t shit-talk in #general, don’t recruit your friends to grief them back. We have logs, we’ll look at them, we’ll act if there’s something to act on.

Enforcement. Retaliators get a warning even when the original offence was real, because retaliation poisons the channel for everyone. Persistent retaliation gets the same treatment as the original offence.

How bans, appeals, and refunds work

  • All bans are reviewed by Nicky before they become permanent.
  • Appeal by opening a Discord ticket. Bring context. Don’t open with “this is bullshit”, that pattern almost always correlates with the original offence being real.
  • Supporter purchases are non-refundable past the 14-day EU withdrawal window even if you’re subsequently banned. Billing errors and technical issues from the last 7 days can be reviewed case-by-case. See Terms for the full version.

Edge cases

  • Streaming. Allowed, including griefing-as-content if the griefing itself respects the rules above. Spawn-camping a specific named player isn’t “content”, it’s rule 2.
  • Bug exploits. Report them through a ticket. Using a known bug for unfair advantage (duping points, restoring a wiped dino, glitching through walls) is treated as cheating and banned.
  • Cheating tools. Instant permanent ban. We share confirmed cheater Steam IDs with allied communities through the inter-server ban-list pipeline.
