Rules

These rules apply to both Legacy and Evrima servers. Playing on Asura means agreeing to follow them. Breaking them gets you warned, muted, or banned. Keeping up with the rules is your responsibility, “I didn’t know” is not an excuse.

Chat

Global chat

Speak English only.
Don’t spam caps.
Don’t ask for free points, buys, or dinos. Even as a joke.
Don’t spam random letters or numbers unless it’s needed to communicate with non-English speakers.
No insults, trash talk, drama, swearing, or toxic behaviour. Serious cases can get you banned.
No inappropriate usernames, profile pictures, or impersonating others with bad intent. That includes impersonating staff.
We don’t manage clan tags unless someone uses them to target another clan.

Group and Local chat

These chats are private. Staff don’t read them unless a report is opened.
Rules still apply. Reports with evidence get acted on.
If a report comes in more than 24 hours after the offending message, staff won’t ban immediately, but the player goes on a watchlist for future monitoring.

TL;DR: global chat is actively moderated. Group and local chat is action-on-report.

Zero tolerance hate speech

Banned in every channel, every server, every time:

Heavy slurs (N-word, F-word, all variants)
Telling someone to KYS or wishing real-life harm
Racism, homophobia, sexism
Nazism, Nazi symbols, quotes, or propaganda
Gore or pornography

Trying to bypass the filter (g a y, etc.) counts as breaking the rule. “It was a joke” is not an excuse.

Politics and religion

No politics or religion in chat or on Discord.
No debates, commentary, arguments, provocations, or indirect references.
Violations: warnings, mutes, or bans.

Staff and punishments

No harassment, trolling, or mocking staff. Immediate ban if you do.
Don’t debate bans, kicks, or warnings in global chat. Open a ticket.
Public drama about a punishment gets you muted or worse.

Other server rules

Don’t spam nest invites at random people.
If an admin is helping someone, don’t attack them. If you’re in a fight and need help, safelog first, then ask. Admins won’t always be visible to attackers.
Helping a ban evader in any way can earn you a permanent ban. Failing to report someone you know is ban-evading is also bannable.
No hacks. Cheat Engine and any other tool, instant permanent ban.
No glitch abuse. Stam glitch, crashlogging, and similar exploits are permanent bans. Any glitch that gives a combat advantage (e.g. ambushing from under the Delta bridge) can get you punished.
Speaking on the log screen is treated the same as crashlogging. Speaking within 45 seconds of logging out counts as crashlog abuse.

No meshing

Staying inside the mesh (rocks, cliffs) to grow or hide is not allowed and gets punished without warning. Examples are pinned in the Discord rules channel.

No game modification

These file modifications and addons are not allowed:

Obnoxiously large dinosaurs (memey size variations are fine, Empire-State-Building dinos aren’t)
Mods that let you spawn as Sandbox dinos or as adults straight from the selection screen

Evrima-exclusive

No foliage removal. Any other file modification that changes the base game is forbidden too.

Asura 3 specific rules

Asura 3 is the survival server with a small ruleset for fairer PvP. These rules apply only on Asura 3, not on A1 or A2.

No mixpacking. Herbivores and carnivores can’t pack or cooperate together. Different carnivore species can’t pack or cooperate together either.
Herd control. Max 10 combined dinos in a mixed herbivore group. Only Trikes or Stegos per mixed herd, never both. T1 species (Beipi, Dryo, Hypsi) don’t count toward the cap.
Group limits per species. Each species has its own cap on adults + juveniles. T6 species (Trike, T-Rex) cap at 2 adults; T1 species have no group limit. The full table lives in #rules on Discord.

Ban evasion

A ban applies to the person, not just the account.

If you’re banned, you’re not allowed to play on our servers under any other account.
Any account linked through Steam Family Share, the same IP address, or the same hardware ID as a banned account is permanently banned without warning.
Admitting in chat to ban-evading or owning alts to bypass rules (“my ban failed”, “I have more accounts”) is treated as a confession and acted on immediately.

Rule-lawyering and intent

These written rules cannot cover every possible situation. The staff team reserves the right to punish behaviour that is clearly meant to disrupt the server, troll, or ruin the experience for others, even if it doesn’t break a written rule literally.

Testing the limits or acting in bad faith will not be tolerated.

Bans, appeals, and refunds

All bans are reviewed by Nicky before becoming permanent.
Appeal by opening a Discord ticket. Bring context. Opening with “this is bullshit” almost always correlates with the original offence being real.
Supporter purchases are non-refundable past the 14-day EU withdrawal window even if you’re subsequently banned. Billing errors from the last 7 days can be reviewed case-by-case. See Terms for the long version.
