New Player FAQ

The questions we answer most often on the Asura servers. For Nexus-specific questions (map, storage, skins) see the Nexus FAQ.

What is a “survival dino”?

A survival dino is one you can pick by default when you join a server in survival mode:

  • Herbivores: Diabloceratops, Dryosaurus, Gallimimus, Maiasaura, Pachycephalosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Triceratops
  • Carnivores: Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, Ceratosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Suchomimus, Tyrannosaurus, Utahraptor

What is a “sandbox dino”?

A sandbox dino can’t be picked in survival mode — only in sandbox mode:

  • Herbivores: Ankylosaurus, Avaceratops, Camarasaurus, Orodromeus, Psittacosaurus, Shantungosaurus, Stegosaurus, Therizinosaurus, Puertasaurus
  • Carnivores: Acrocanthosaurus, Albertosaurus, Austroraptor, Baryonyx, Herrerasaurus, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor

When do the servers restart?

All Asura game servers restart daily at 06:00 (Paris time). In-game warnings start 10 minutes before, and player files are saved right before the restart.

What is safelogging?

Safelogging means logging out by pressing the logout button after the 45-second timer has fully run out. If you skip the timer, your dinosaur stays in the world for up to 5 minutes and can be killed while you’re gone.

Always safelog before using any buy, request, storage save/load, or skin change.

How do I find my Steam ID?

In-game, press Tab to open the player list. You’ll be at the top — left-click the numbers next to your name, then paste them anywhere with Ctrl + V.

What are points and how do I earn them?

Points are the Asura currency, shared across Legacy and Evrima. You can earn them by:

  • Playing on Evrima — 100 points per minute of playtime (requires your Steam ID to be bound on Nexus)
  • Using the Discord economy commands (.work, .crime, gambling games)
  • Winning server events
  • Supporting the server — daily income based on your tier

See How to Earn Points for the full breakdown of what points can buy.

Are mods allowed?

Asura stays as close to vanilla as possible. We don’t run mods that change core gameplay, and client-side file modifications (no-foliage, oversized dinos, sandbox spawn unlocks) are against the rules.

I’m a content creator — can I get a role?

Yes. On the Discord:

  • Content Creator role — at least 50 YouTube subscribers and 3 gameplay videos posted.
  • Streamer role — Twitch affiliate, streaming at least once a week.

Contact Nicky on the Discord to request either role.

Something went wrong — where do I get help?

Open a ticket on the Discord. Stuck dinos, lost dinos, purchase issues, reports — the staff team handles all of it, usually within hours.
